Durham University MBA
In partnership with Durham University Business School, Moving On is undertaking research into sustainable funding for the Third Sector.
We believe that research has much to offer society towards finding solution to the many problems we are faced with today.
The purpose of the research is to investigate methods to funding to complement and enhance the traditional method of applications to trusts. This will enable organisations such as ourselves to create a more consistent long-term approach to service delivery in the voluntary sector.
The scope includes exploring partnerships with business in the delivery of a Corporate Social Responsibility while leveraging tax benefits to support organisations such as Moving On.
In order to complete the research we have appointed Mr Samuel Aglago. He will be conducting the research that will also forms part of his MBA studies at the university.
The approach to the research requires responses to questionnaires that have been developed by Mr Aglago and sent to the top 250 businesses in the North East
The results of the research are expected by end September 2007

Launch Day
Moving On is holding a Launch Day on Friday 20th April at their new premises, 2 Red Hill Villas, Durham to officially open the fantastic new building and promote the range of services on offer to young people facing housing issues in Durham.
The building will be opened by the Mayor of Durham and will be attended by Linda McGowan, Specialist Advisor on Homelessness at Communities and Local Government. A wide range of agencies and organisations working with young people across County Durham have been invited to the launch as well as funders, local councillors and supporters. The launch will give people the opportunity to view the new premises and facilities available to young people, find out more about the services available, speak to the staff team, management committee and service users and view displays of our recent work and achievements. There will also be the opportunity to take part in peer education workshops delivered by MO's Army, a group of young people who have experienced homelessness, as part of the prevention work we carry out. MO's Army, a tenancy support group, have recently begun delivering the peer education programme in schools and youth groups across Durham to raise awareness about homeless and the type of support available to those facing housing issues. A life skills programme has also recently been developed and will be rolled out in May offering young people the opportunity to take part in an informal training programme to help equip them with the skills needed to live independently
